Hyundai Motorsport star Craig Breen has been laid to rest in his home country Ireland having lost his life in a pre-event test last week. Aged 33, Craig Breen was one of the finest Hyundai drivers to make the 2023 line up. Having had a difficult season last year, Breen was on the verge of winning his first WRC event this year.
Pending Rally Croatia, Hyundai will honor his legacy with a special livery throughout the event and also leave his entry intact in respect for Breen’s life. Leading the line up, Thierry Neuville will drive the event together with Esappeka Lappi as they battle in a sad state having lost Craig Breen that would’ve beefed up the competition to Toyota’s lethal line up.
Craig Breen’s last funeral rights have been broadcasted live on Boxcast, and you can catch the recap of all events and dedications here.
Having lost the life of Ken Block earlier this year, 2023 is already a hard start for the Rallying community and with Breen’s loss, many drivers could start having caution in the stages. But, the competition will proceed, and Craig Breen will always be remembered as a great driver that graced the Rally 1 era with a smile.
Its so so sad 😭😭😭😭😭 his soul rest in peace
